OECU Careers

Purposeful Work with a Supportive Impact

Every day at OECU can create unique opportunities with members and our communities helping them create brighter financial futures all across Oklahoma! We are enthusiastic about our motto “large enough to serve you, small enough to know you!”  Not to mention all the help we give to our local educators through our teacher grant program.

Exceptional People with Great Culture

When you work at OECU, you’ll collaborate with a diverse group of financial professionals to deliver exceptional member experiences. Through trust, collaboration, and communication, we encourage each employee to make an impact on our organization and in the communities we serve.

Educators

We are a team built on helping education and providing financial education to our members who might need it. We are happy to teach and help those members reach their financial goals through our banking and lending services.

Family

A credit union is like a family, with a vested interest in your success. We believe a successful company is built on a successful team, and for this reason, our employees often say that they consider OECU as family. We respect your work/life balance; therefore, we show loyalty with increased paid time off (PTO) so you can “refuel” as your career grows.

Community

We take pride in the fact that we are a community-oriented organization. Throughout the year, the credit union can be spotted serving food and coffee in the community as well as sponsoring local educational events. Our teams go out of their way to provide gifts and goodies to our local teachers to help them recharge their energy! Employees are urged to get involved in community events and volunteer at local schools.

Culture

Our company culture is based on the credit union idea of “People Supporting People,” which drives every decision we make. As a not-for-profit financial institution, our commitment to people before profit is ingrained in our culture, as seen by a large number of long-serving OECU employees. All employees are encouraged to contribute, and the credit union’s mission and vision are driven by employee feedback in the areas of innovation and efficiency, as well as teamwork.

Growth

Individuals, teams, and the company all benefit from our efforts. This focus on long-term growth allows us to fulfill our mission and assist more people in achieving their financial objectives. For our staff, this means additional possibilities to advance their careers and broaden their expertise in the fast-changing financial services business, all while working for a company that prioritizes its employees and members.

Innovation

A key part of our mission is innovation. OECU offers an exciting path for innovative thinkers who excel in delivering personalized financial services to our members. In addition, our culture encourages innovation.

Application Process

We work hard to make the application and interview processes as transparent as possible. We work hard to keep candidates updated on their status via e-mails or phone calls as the hiring process progresses.

  1. Application: You must submit your application online to be considered for employment. No phone calls or walk-in applications, please. Also please don’t forget to submit all your documents; résumé, cover letter, and any other additional documents to help us know more about you!
  2. Initial Introduction: If we like what we see in your application and résumé, an associate from our human resources team will contact you for an introduction and set up a meeting.
  3. Background Check: Following an interview, all candidates will be subject to a background check. Please keep in mind that OECU encourages a drug-free workplace, and new workers may be subjected to drug testing.
  4. Hiring Manager Interview: On-site interviews with the hiring manager usually last 1-2 hours and may include additional managers and/or department employees.
  5. Reference Verification: References may be contacted for the selected candidates after the interview process is complete.
  6. Offer: The candidate will receive a written offer with specifics on compensation, working hours, location, and start date and time once all of this has been completed.
