Banking Software Upgrade

SOFTWARE UPGRADE – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Oklahoma Educators Credit Union will be undergoing a major software upgrade on February 1, 2019.  This upgrade involves moving to a more modern core processing system as well as upgraded online banking, a new branded mobile app, improved bank by phone features and more.  OECU made the decision to upgrade our core system so we may continue to provide you with safe, secure products and services, while improving features and functionality.

While our core conversion will mostly be happening behind the scenes, there will be times where it will affect some of the services you may use.  We will keep you up-to-date on when and what will be affected so that you will be prepared.  We also want to provide you with more information on what to expect when it comes to your funds and accounts.

What is a core processing system?

Our core processing system, also known as a core system, is the software that manages our major banking functions.  These functions include:

  • Opening and managing accounts
  • Originating and serving loans
  • Processing cash deposits and withdrawals
  • Maintaining account holder information
  • Processing transactions

Will my account and financial information stay secure during the core conversion process?

Yes, keeping your information secure and private is a top priority for us.  The core conversion process will not compromise your safety or the safety of your information.

Will my funds be safe and secure?

Your funds will remain safe and secure.  All accounts are fully insured by the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration) for up to $250,000 per individual account holder.  Refer to NCUA.gov for more information.

Will I have access to my funds during the conversion?

  • Debit cards will still be available at reduced limits through the upgrade period.
  • Branch locations will be closed Friday, 2/1/19, Saturday, 2/2/19, and will re-open by 11:00 am Monday, 2/4/19.
  • OECU Credit cards will be available and not affected during the conversion.
  • Night depositories will be available to drop off deposits or submit your loan payments while we’re closed during conversion weekend and will be posted on Monday, 2/4/19.

Will my account number change?

No, accounts will retain their current numbers.

Can I continue to use my checks?

Yes, the account number on your check remains the same after the upgrade, so you may continue using the same checks.

Will Oklahoma Educators Credit Union’s routing number remain the same?

Yes, the routing and transit number will remain the same.  Oklahoma Educators Credit Union’s routing number is 303085353.

Will any part of my direct deposits, payroll deductions, or automatic payments change?

  • Any direct deposits, payroll deductions, social security, or ACH deposits will continue; they’ll convert to the new system. You should not need to make adjustments.
  • Any automatic payment (ACH origination) we have established for you, will continue as normal.
  • You may use your OECU checks. Account numbers will not change.
  • Please carefully review your February 2019 statement and notify us of any changes.

What services will be affected by the core conversion process?

The services that will be impacted during the conversion process are:

  • Branch Locations
    • Thursday, 1/31/19 – Branches and drive-ups will be open regular hours
    • Friday, 2/1/19 – Branches and drive-ups will be closed
    • Saturday, 2/2/19 – Branches and drive-ups will be closed
    • Monday, 2/4/19 – Branches and drive-ups will open at 11:00 am
  • Online Banking
    • Online Banking will not be available from close of business Thursday, 1/31/19 and will return to service on Monday, 2/4/19.
    • Online Banking history will not be carried over to the new system. Please download or print any history you need.
  • eStatements
    • Members who receive eStatements will be able to access 12 months of prior statements. If further history is needed after the upgrade members may call in to request it.
  • Bill Pay
    • All online bill payments scheduled to occur before January 27, 2019 will process normally. DO NOT SCHEDULE ANY BILL PAYMENTS AFTER JANUARY 27, 2019 IN OUR CURRENT BILL PAY SYSTEM.
    • Bill Pay functionality will be available beginning at 11:00 am on February 4, 2019.
    • Payee information will carry over to the upgraded system.
    • No pending payments will be stored or brought over into the new Bill Pay.
    • Automatic payments will need to be re-established in the new system.
  • Mobile Banking
    • The current Touch Banking app will be removed from service at close of business January 31, 2019.
    • The new OECU branded app will be available in the App Store and Google Play as of February 4, 2019.
  • Credit Union Service Centers
    • Access to Credit Union Service Centers will be unavailable from close of business January 31, 2019 and return on February 4, 2019 at 11:00 am.
  • Call-Line 24 (Telephone Banking)
    • Call-Line 24 Telephone Banking will be unavailable from close of business January 31, 2019 and return to service February 4, 2019 at 11:00 am.
    • A new call in number will be provided before February 4, 2019.

 IMPORTANT DETAILS to be sure you are ready for the Software Upgrade.

ATMs

  • ATMs will be available during the conversion weekend. ATM balance inquiry and account transfers will not be available.

ATM Cards, Debit Cards, & Credit Cards

  • ATM and debit cards will be available at reduced daily limits. PINs will remain the same.  Complete functionality will be restored Monday, 2/4/19 at 11:00 am.
  • OECU credit cards will not be affected, they will continue to work during and after the conversion.

Check Clearings, ACH, and Payroll Deductions

  • Any direct deposits, payroll deductions, social security, or ACH deposits will continue; they’ll convert to the new system. You should not need to make adjustments.
  • Any automatic payment (ACH origination) we have established for you, will continue as normal.
  • You may use your OECU checks. Account numbers will not change.
  • Please carefully review your February 2019 statement and notify us of any changes.

Loan Accounts and Payments

  • Your loan structure – terms, payments, due dates, and rates – will remain the same.
  • Our night depositories will be available to drop in your payment while we’re closed during conversion weekend and will be posted on Monday, 2/4/19.
  • If your loan payment is automatically pulled/processed from your other financial institution, then sent to OECU, no action will be needed by you.

Online Banking

  • Our new Online Banking and Mobile Banking systems will be available beginning 11:00 am on Monday, February 4, 2019.
  • ACTION NEEDED: The first time you log in, use your Online Banking User ID and temporary password which will be sent to account holders via email.  You will be prompted to create a new User ID using an alpha-numeric combination.  The new User ID cannot be your account number.
  • If you have not logged-in in the last 6 months then you will need to enroll in Online Banking.
  • Follow the prompts, review the terms and conditions, then provide the information requested.

Mobile Banking (App)

  • Oklahoma Educators Credit Union will have a completely new app with enhanced functions and security. The Touch Banking app will no longer be valid.
  • Search Oklahoma Educators Credit Union in the App Store or Google Play to download and install the new app.
  • You can still check your balance and make a transfer.

Bill Pay

  • The current bill pay system will be unavailable beginning Monday, 1/28/19. DO NOT SCHEDULE ANY BILL PAYMENTS AFTER JANUARY 27, 2019 IN OUR CURRENT BILL PAY SYSTEM.
  • The new version of bill pay has a refreshed user interface which will come online Monday, 2/4/18 at 11:00 am.
  • Current Bill Pay users must register for the new Bill Pay service.
  • Bill payment history will not transfer to the new system, however, transactions can still be viewed on e-statements and through online banking.
  • Recurring payments scheduled during the conversion (1/28/19 through 2/4/19) will not be processed, so you’ll need to make other arrangements ahead of time.
  • Payee information will carry over to the upgraded system, but automatic or recurring payments will need to be re-established.
  • Before the weekend of conversion, you may wish to take screen shots or write down your scheduled/recurring transfers for easy reference and setup after the conversion. You can also download your payment history to a csv (spreadsheet) file.

Call-Line 24 (Telephone Banking)

The upgraded Phone Banking service is more user-friendly and now offers speech recognition.

  • A new call in number is (844) 873-7094
  • The first time a user calls into the system they will need to follow prompts to set up a Phone Banking PIN.
  • The new system is voice based. Users who wish to access the touch tone menu can say “Touch Tone” at any time during the call.
